In May of 2019, students from Avenues São Paulo and Avenues New York embarked on a Global Journeys adventure to Guatemala. In addition to exploring a fascinating and beautiful place, they had opportunities to learn more about Guatemalan history and culture from local artists, filmmakers and activists. They formed small production teams and created short documentary films about indigenous ceramic artists and weavers in a small village on the shore of Lake Atitlan. Each group conducted interviews with specific artists about their craft and their creative process and produced films about artist's life and their work.
